Dolphin’s Jump

Jumping out of water's surface,
a dolphin, winding up to what he aims,
an orange globe - ten feet above.

Bending his back with keen ambition,
leaving nature’s source behind,
he does his game and wins his aim.

The seagray skin hits orange plastic -
he falls, he dives, he tries again,
untiring like a magic player
his fintail hits the shining ball.

Dolphin’s Friend

For dinosaurs take elephants,
and dogs just for the hunt.
But me - I am a dolphin's friend -
some cats I do like too.

What dolphins do have
with cats in common?

They do like fish,
they like to play
and - after all,
they do love men.
